We can also use alot more donations for the silent auction as well as business advertisements for the program guide.

| Splintered Sunlight formed in 1992. "Splintered" quickly became the most popular Grateful Dead Tribute band in the Philadelphia area gaining praise from Dead Heads and Non Heads alike. Sine that time, Splintered Sunlight has become a permanent fixture for music in the Mid Atlantic regiong. The band has also maintained a weekly residency at Brownies 23 East in Ardmore, PA for years.
Splintered Sunlight has a play list of well over two hundred songs, spanning the thirty year career of the Grateful Dead (as well as numerous other classic rock songs) from which it skillfully crafts each show's set list, carefully endeavoring to not repeat songs--let alons set lists in the same or even nearby venues. Splintered Sunlight and its members have performed with Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead, as well as former Grateful Dead members, Donna Jean Godcheaux; and pianist Tom Constanten. They have also performed with longtime Grateful Dead collaborator Merle Saunders and Jimmy Herring guitarist for "The Dead." In addition Splintered has shared the stage with many notable Dead related acts including Kingfish, Jorma Kaukonen and Jefferson Starship among others. |

Greg Merritt along with Alex Garay, Dave Migliore and Keith Giordano founded the 90s psychedelic band Amorphous. Dave and Alex went on to form Catbootz, and later the jam scene phenomenon Buzzuniverse. Greg Merritt went on to form the band Good Friend with drummer Dan DeRienzo and bassist Rob Smith. The first release was the 7" vinyl record Out There/River, which received airplay at over 70 college radio stations around the country in 1995. Building on this success, Good Friend's debut CD Best Friend released in 1999 received airplay on over 250 college stations reaching number one on over a dozen stations. Greg Merritt is currently forming a new jam band to follow up on the release of his CD Dream Through A Leaf last spring which debuted at 21 on the jambands.com radio chart. Heavy Road's Improvisation 4 is included in the June issue of Relix Magazine! (the one with Phish on the cover) Check out Heavy Road on Youtube. Several edits from 2-26 are done with more on the way. Improvisation number 6 from 2-26-09 is now posted on www.gregmerritt.net. Check it out and sign up on the email list!. The new band is officially called "Greg Merritt's Heavy Road. I'm thinking we'll eventually just call it Heavy Road. The players are Greg Merritt on guitar/vocals, Ron Thaler on drums, Art Sadowsyi on bass, and Pete Remm on the keyboard. I'll get some more bio stuff up here soon. On Feb 26 we decided to not only record live but also video the second 'rehearsal' of Heavy Road. I don't think this has ever been done before. The video is still being edited and should be ready before the end of March. In the meantime, enjoy a few of the jams. |

Karmic Juggernaut was formed in the autumn of 2004 with guitarist Randy Preston, former Universal Mind members Kevin Grossman (drums) and James McCaffrey (guitar), and mutual friend/bassist Marcus Morieko. Based on the premise of organic music without boundaries, they have spent the last five years creating their own unique sound; a tasty blend of all aspects of the musical palette. Combining elements of psychedelic and progressive rock, jazz, blues, funk, groove, world music, and a constantly developing array of other influences, K-Juggs stands as an experiment into sonic experience. The quartet has already shared the stage with acts such as moe., Keller Williams, Gongzilla, Perpetual Groove, Lotus, UMelt, and State Radio while playing throughout the Northeast. Morieko left in late August '08 and was replaced by bass extraordinaire Andy Black, solidifying the Karmic lineup. Three of the four are currently attending colleges for music, at Berklee Music College in Boston, Monmouth University, and the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford. The Juggernauts plan to continue their assault on the music scene in 2009, and vow to spread their musical flavor to all parts of the globe. |
Doug Mikula has performed with bands like Woodfish, Drive, Jody Joseph and the Average Joes, The Matthew Curran Band, Course of Evolution (now the Matt King project), DWI, Last Perfect Thing, and Alexis Guerra. You can catch him currently playing with The Domino Effect. In the beginning, Doug was hugely influenced by Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and other instrumental guitarists. These great guitarists inspired Doug to start an instrumental project of his own. From there, his taste in music started to expand to include more jazz and jam rock influences. You can listen to some of this influence in Doug's new band, The Domino Effect. |
